Annual Conference to take place in Gibraltar 14th - 17th October
The Confederation will host its fourth annual overseas conference at the Caleta Hotel in Gibraltar from 14th to 17th October 2004. Highlights will include sessions on 'Cross Border Relations in a Modern Europe', and 'The EU Constitution'.

Irish President hosts CEC Board Members
Members of the board paid a visit to Aras an Uachtaran on Tuesday, June 8th for an audience with Her Excellency President McAleese, introducing her to the work and key personnel behind the Confederation. In her inimitable way, the President played the perfect host, as she was introduced to all members and the Partnership Manager, and invited them for tea and a short tour of the historical building.

Republic of Ireland Local Election results 2004
With an above-EU average turnout for the local elections on 11th June, the government faced an expected mid-term backlash as Fine Gael hold their ground and Sinn Fein make anticipated gains. Fianna Fail lost 84 seats with a sizable number of Oireachtas members unable to stand with the end of the dual mandate.
