The origins of the Confederation
lie in relations that were developed between members of the Local Authority
Members’ Association and the National Association of Councillors, and while the
work of CEC Ltd has focused on the Northern Ireland-Republic of Ireland
Councillor Cooperation Project, a new workgroup has now been initiated to
engage councillors from the two jurisdictions with NAC representatives in
England, Scotland and Wales. The group includes
three members from each jurisdiction and have met on a number of occasions in
advance of an annual general meeting in Berlin.
